HIGHLIGHTS
Emotions were running high last night as the Jaguars took on South Broward HS who is lead by former Jaguar baseball coach Joe Giummule. The game was an exciting playoff intensity match between the two teams. The Jaguars struck first in the top of the second inning when Junior Greg Farber hit an RBI double of the leftcenter field fence (just missing his first home run as a Jaguar), Senior Bryan Bosworth had an RBI ground out followed by a sacrifice fly from Sophomore Pitcher Austin McMahon that put the Jaguars up 3-0. South Broward bounced back to score two runs in the bottom of the inning and later tied the game 3-3 in the bottom of the 3rd. The Jaguars immediately responded loading up the bases in the top of the 4th inning when Junior Derek Grider connected with a clutch 2-out 2 run single to put the Jaguars ahead for good. Greider would also star on the mound closing out several threats made by the South Broward Bulldogs when he came in to pitch the final three innings to earn his first save of the season preserving a 5-4 win for the Jaguars. Offensively the Jaguars were lead by Derek Greider who was 2-4 with 2RBI and Greg Farber who had an RBI double. Austin McMahon earned his first Varsity win as a Pitcher going 4 innings and scattering 6 hits.
