HIGHLIGHTS
The Coral Glades baseball team suffered their first loss of the season to the Olympic Heights Lions 5-3 on Tuesday night. Olympic Heights capitalized on a two out error to extend the second inning and score two runs off senior LHP Brian Malin. The Jaguars answered with two runs of their own in the top of the third inning also capitalizing on miscues from the opposition. After exchanging runs in the bottom of the fourth inning and top of the fifth inning (RBI single by Mike Kline) the Lions to a two run advantage of a walk and a one out two run double. Sean Vergara in relief of Brian Malin, who pitched 4 solid innings scattering 6 hits while striking out four and giving up 3 runs (2 earned), took the loss for the Jaguars after allowing a bases loaded two-run double. Trailing 5-3 Olympic Heights ace Cory Stern held the Jaguar bats silent the last two innings. Stern went the distance striking out 11 and walking only one. Offensively the Jaguars were led by Mike Kline and Barry Goldstein each had a hit an RBI.
